10 Bollywood Couples With the Worst Chemistry
10 Bollywood Couples With the Worst Chemistry
Bobby Deol and Sonam Kapoor in Thankyou(2011)
Some people do certain films because it has a star cast and they are going to get a big paycheck at the end of the day. The case seems true for Sonam Kapoor’s choice with the 2011 film Thankyou. An actress who usually plays weird and complex characters, Bobby Deol opposite her was a big mismatch and genuinely they didn’t look or convincingly even play in any shape or form the character of a married couple in turmoil.
Shahid Kapoor and Rani Mukherjee in Dil Bole Hadippa(2009)
Basically, the copy of She’s the man but in cricketing term was a failed effort to make a good story cupped to life on screen. What makes matters worse in the below average attempt was that the two main leads didn’t come across as a smitten and gradually in-love couple. Rani Mukherjee looked quite older than Shahid despite all the efforts to make her look younger. They seriously didn’t have a spark chemistry.
Rajni Kant and Aishwarya Rai in Enthiran/Robot(2010)
This is a Tamil film but as it is seen by all the Hindi speaking Community in the form of the dubbed version, so it is on the list. The movie made 1.17 billion rupees at the end of the first week of its release. The film received a lot of appreciation and it was really brilliant too, but one thing that can’t be denied is the chemistry between the leading couple was not up to the mark. The huge age differences well aesthetic difference was seen clearly but the makers only wanted the best looking heroine to be cast opposite the superstar, not caring about the chemistry or bonding of the couple during the film.
Imran Khan and Kangana Ranaut in Katti Batti(2015)
Kangana Ranaut definitely knows one thing; how to play an independent loud mouth who always gets her way in relationships. Katti Batti is no different where the actress takes the innocent Imran Khan through the world of emotions. What should come across is a hilarious opposite attracts story comes across as just jarringly loud and unnecessary at points where you just start to feel sorry for Imran Khan’s obsession and stubbornness for not letting the relationship go.
Ranbir Kapoor and Pallavi Sharda in Besharam(2013)
This movie is one of the worst Ranbir Kapoor’s movies. The actor tries to compensate with the luster lacking script with his acting abilities but fails miserably. Overacting through the entire film; to make the matters worse, the on-screen pairing didn’t work at all. The spark of romance or incline of passion was completely absent and it was rumored that the actors didn’t get along during the filming of the movie which comes across evidently on screen.
Ram Charan and Priyanka Chopra in Zanjeer(2013)
One of the worst remakes of classical Indian Cinema is the 2013 Ram Charan and Priyanka Chopra film Zanjeer. He gives her shelter in his house to protect her from goons and she starts to like him while Vijay does not respond to her love positively. The same but slowly and steadily and unconvincingly starts to like her. Ram Charan is a good actor but Priyanka and his on-screen pairing just didn’t work in this below-average film. Badly written dialogues, poor cinematography or two actors fail to bridge the gap and connect, be it any reason somehow it just didn’t work.
Imran Khan and Shruti Hassan in Luck(2009)
Imran Khan faces quite a trouble trying to convincingly romance heroines on screen and nothing comes across as forced and unconvincing than his on-screen pairing with Shruti Hassan in Luck. Even in the series of games in the film where Imran Khan saves Shruti, it doesn’t seem to be genuine or believable warmth between the two. It’s either the actor’s inability to communicate or this pairing was just a failure.
Shahid Kapoor and Vidya Balan in Kismat Konnection(2008)
A man marked by bad luck meets an over-the-top gypsy who tells him only a person can change his luck. A struggling architect needs a social worker and all luck comes pouring his way. In the midst of all this boredom, there is not a single spot of fire or spark between the two actors. The interaction showed is extremely fake and did nothing to save the film from failure.
Salman Khan and Zareen Khan in Veer(2010)
The movie Veer being written by the hero himself that is Salman Khan is set during the 1825 Pindaari movement of Rajhistan when India was ruled by the British and it is horrible. Cheesy dialogues, over-the-top action sequences and the romance that is as hot as Kashmir in December! The badly written script introduces Zareen Khan to the movies and we all know nothing that really happened for her since then. The action between the characters is robotic and borderline fake.
Priyanka Chopra and Uday Chopra in Pyaar Impossible(2010)
The script of this movie is itself horrible; a popular, good-looking girl saved by the genius ugly duckling who mistakenly after seven long years of obsessing about her becomes her daughter’s nanny. If that isn’t bad enough, the chemistry between the two main leads is as bad, nothing appears to be as charming and primarily feels like a stalker’s obsession rather than organic love.
